Reverends Dave and Bobbie Ebert are on a unique mission to minister to survivors of sex trafficking using the power of improv comedy. With their help, survivors find their voice, tap into their creativity, improve communication, and rediscover confidence. As US missionaries, they use their unique calling to help those in need and bring light into the darkest of situations.
If you'd like to support our ministry, click on the Partner tab to be taken to the Assemblies of God US Missions Giving page. All support must go through the AG US Missions portal for accountability and transparency.
We are the world's first Improv Missionaries. We are expanding our part time ministry of improv for survivors of sex trafficking to a full time ministry. As Paul wrote to his churches for support, we are asking the Body of Christ to help us grow this ministry.
Interested supporters can partner with us at improvmissionaries.gifts4glory.com

Tanya Gioia
Tanya knows that for every addict, 5 people are impacted. Working with women heals a generation. She’s been through all the challenges you’re familiar with: • Striving for a career to make her whole • Chasing a man to fulfill her • Jumping unhealed into a second marriage • Managing new babies and addicted husband as well as her own codependency • Running her own business thinking enough money would “save” her. Finally, Tanya decided she deserved more in her life – from her life. She set out to learn everything, AA, Alanon, Celebrate Recovery, Deep Therapy (EMDR) and decided to help heal others who share similar challenges by getting her professional coaching certification. Tanya works with women who want to finally heal their marriage and family whilst supporting their husbands through recovery from addiction. She uses her unique Dancing with Joy process to help them become the woman her husband cherishes and the mother that places God and love first to create a truly connected loving, and supportive family.

Dana S. Diaz is a wife, mother, and author of the best-selling book GASPING FOR AIR: THE STRANGLEHOLD OF NARCISSISTIC ABUSE. Dana has had life-long experience with narcissistic abuse, beginning in childhood. Her education in journalism and psychology at DePaul University in Chicago gave her the ability to accurately verbalize and express how narcissistic abuse creates confusion and conflict within victims, so that she can help other victims know they are not alone and better understand their own circumstances. Today, Dana is a proud voice for fellow victims who are unable, afraid, or ashamed to share their experiences. She strives to create awareness and understanding to ensure victims are given the support they need to first understand their situation and then begin the healing process. Her first book, chronicling her own abusive marriage that lasted nearly three decades, started as a journal that she hid under the couch cushion in the basement. Dana lives with her husband in Illinois and is in the process of publishing the prequel and sequel to GASPING FOR AIR.

Many survivors suffer unspeakable abuse in their childhood and never tell another soul about it. It is very common to not have the words to even describe what happened to their bodies, their minds, and emotions. My guest Mark McNear is here to talk about his book Finding My Words: A Ruthless Commitment to Healing Gently After Trauma. Mark candidly talks about his painful childhood, the long term fallout from the abuse, what was it like going through rehab, and finding the words and the courage to tell his story. Join us for a powerful testimony of freedom in Christ!

DR. MARK M. MCNEAR BIO
Dr. Mark M. McNear is a Licensed Psychotherapist who has over thirty years of experience in clinical work through his private practice in New Jersey. He is a graduate of Northeastern Bible College, New York University, and Oxford Graduate School. Dr. McNear specializes in helping people who have experienced trauma in their life, as well as the maladaptive behaviors that spring forth from their woundedness. Yet, Dr. McNear doesn’t approach his clientele purely from a clinical perspective but as someone who also has experienced severe trauma in his life and the healing power found in Christ. In his recent memoir, Finding My Words: A Ruthless Commitment to Healing Gently after Trauma, Dr. McNear reveals he suffered a traumatic and abusive childhood. He suffered sexual abuse and physical abuse starting at the age of four and was repeatedly told he was stupid, a fool, and trash. Dr. McNear hid these abuses deep in his heart for many years – until they caught up with him.
Today, Dr. McNear seeks to help others find the freedom and healing in Christ that he himself received once he faced his own traumatic past.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. McNear has been a speaker to audiences nationwide. He has also been a frequent guest on nationally syndicated radio broadcasts, podcasts, authored articles, and Op-eds, and been a co-host panelist for a video series dealing with Christianity and Mental Health.
“Mark’s experience is my experience. Though my childhood trauma and abuse left me with a lifetime of scars, it also did something else. It brought me to the God who loves me. And that changed my life and brought healing beyond measure. Whatever you’re going through, God has seen others, like Mark and I, through similar trauma to show you that if God can do it for them, he can do it now, for you.”
-- Josh McDowell
“It has been said that if we don’t transform our pain, we will certainly transmit it. Mark McNear shows us in this wonderful book that the opposite is also true: if we do transform our pain, we can pass on healing, wisdom, and grace to others. McNear, a professional helper, turns his pen on the pain, complexity, and beauty of his own story in a way that will capture your heart. He speaks with deep honesty about his trauma, but also about his recovery by the grace of God. Whether you are attempting to face your own trauma story or help someone around you do the same, I believe Mark’s story will be a gift and an encouragement to you.”

Hendersonville Theatre (HT) continues its New Works Series (formerly called Staged Reading Series) Saturday, September 9 at 3 p.m. Showcasing the work of area playwrights and performed by local actors, The New Works Series is a FREE public reading of a new play in development. However, donations are welcome to support HT.
HT’s New Works Series offers exciting script-in-hand readings of new plays by emerging local playwrights. The readings are followed by a talk back with the playwright and actors to provide feedback to the playwright.
A short discussion will follow each reading to provide feedback to the playwright about their script. There is no charge to attend or to participate, however donations are welcome and will be used to support HT.
Hendersonville Theatre is committed to exploring and developing new work for American theater, supporting local playwrights with their creative process from concept to production.
Sky Eyes by Kiesa Kay will be read on September 9. Sky Eyes is a play with original music written for the play by Brad Hodge. The call-to-action link we are providing is a powerful tool that offers significant benefits to our listeners and potential supporters. For hosts' understanding, the call-to-action link serves as an invitation for pet boarding facilities to join our network and for individuals to become pet fosters. For pet boarding facilities, joining our network means becoming part of a compassionate community that is dedicated to providing safe and loving temporary homes for pets of domestic violence survivors. By affiliating with Praline's Backyard Foundation, these facilities can actively contribute to breaking the barriers that survivors face when seeking safety for themselves and their beloved pets. Being a part of our network not only gives boarding facilities the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of survivors and their pets but also helps raise awareness about the critical issue of domestic violence. On the other hand, for individuals, becoming a pet foster through our call-to-action link offers a unique chance to play a crucial role in supporting survivors during their journey to rebuild their lives. By fostering a pet, individuals provide a loving and nurturing environment for these animals, allowing survivors to access resources and assistance without the fear of leaving their pets behind. Being a pet foster allows individuals to actively participate in the healing process of both the survivor and their furry companion, fostering a sense of empowerment and hope. Overall, the call-to-action link is a powerful means to engage listeners, as it gives them the opportunity to directly impact the lives of survivors and their pets. By clicking on the link, listeners can become part of a network that promotes safety, healing, and brighter futures for those affected by domestic violence. It adds value to the listener experience by providing a tangible way to contribute and support a cause that makes a significant difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals and their beloved pets.
