[00:00:53] I'm gonna talk a little bit briefly about some of the other guys that I met [00:01:00] on these dating websites. Not gonna go into as much detail as the first episode, but I am going to go over detail a guy that I had dated that I really cared for and liked, and I thought that this would be a good person to have an ongoing relationship with.
[00:01:22] But that didn't work out.
[00:01:24] How has your week been going? I mentioned last time that Brian and I have COVID. I am fine. I had tested again this morning, and I am negative for COVID, thankfully, so I can go out and do stuff instead of staying at home. Please pray for Brian. He is still doing poorly. Last night he had a high fever and I was a little bit nervous, but it did go back down [00:02:00] this morning. Because of his
[00:02:02] immune system, he has a harder time fighting any kind of viruses or illnesses. So,

[00:00:34] Hello everyone. Welcome. I hope that you are well. Everybody, we have joined the club. Brian and I are sick with Covid this week. We have dodged Covid for the last two years. In fact, we haven't been sick with either a cold or a [00:01:00] flu or anything else in the last two years, and unfortunately we have it now.
[00:01:08] So I'm gonna tell you a little bit about our experience. If you don't wanna hear about our experience with Covid, go ahead and fast forward five minutes. But I started feeling some symptoms at work at my temp job. And everybody around me is sick and it's a very small office and we're all jammed in there like sardines, and it's warm. There's not a whole lot of circulation. And there's not a whole lot of cleaning products like in the lunchroom.
[00:01:41] There aren't any Clorox wipes to wipe off the table you were sitting at or wipe the sink area near the microwave. And I knew when I went in there that I'm gonna get sick. My previous temp job, I went [00:02:00] into the office and everything was very spread out. It was very airy. There was airflow, air conditioning, and there was plenty of cleaning products.
[00:02:10] If you touched a surface, you were required to wipe it down.

EP 116: From Abuse to Solitary Confinement, to the Power of God: Steven Snook

We have a fantastic story of redemption for you today with my guest Steven Snook. He candidly tells of his abusive upbringing, him selling drugs at an early age, and winding up in prison, particularly in solitary confinement. God had big plans for Steven after he was born again, and he led many others to Christ in prison. He now has a thriving ministry and business after he was finally released. Steven is an incredible storyteller, and you will be so encouraged and inspired by his testimony! Don't miss it.
Biography:
I spent 19 years in federal prison for a non-violent drug crime. I got saved and born again in 2003 and received the baptism in the Holy Spirit in 2004. I was a minister of the gospel in prisons all across America. In 2017, I spent 377 days in solitary confinement, in intense prayer and fasting. During that time The Lord revealed Himself in many signs and wonders. Many inmates were born again during that time. Since my release from prison in Feb. 2022, I created a business based on a dream I received from God, I've been a guest lecturer at multiple colleges including Bradley University, and am driven to spread the gospel and tell my story of redemption. I have been on many podcasts recently including Jody Burkeen's, "Man Up God's Way", as well as Dr. Joe Martin's, "Real Men Connect". Both of which have tens of thousands of followers.

EP 114: Healing From Military Sexual Trauma: Kimberly Clark

Kimberly's lived experience exceeds most people's imagination. She has lived through and survived multiple traumas including rape, narcissistic abuse, emotional abuse, trauma,  MST, PTSD, Addiction and alcoholism. Not only did she survive it, she advocates for other women and veterans who are still suffering. Kimberly was in active addiction for over a decade including in and out of jail, rehabs and psychiatric units but now Is a Certified Peer Support Specialist for the Louisiana department of Behavioral health,  the Louisiana State Leader for a national non-profit organization that raises awareness to Veteran Suicide, a published author, Motivational Speaker and most importantly a mother. She loves to speak about EMDR therapy, which changed her life. Kimberly wants to reach as many people as possible with her message of hope.

EP 113: My Story: Part 20: The Aftermath Of My Divorce

There are a myriad of emotions, thoughts and choices after you have gone through a divorce, especially a survivor of abuse. I go through the roller coaster ride of the 2 years after the divorce, which involves depression, bankruptcy, sleepless night, and sabotage. I also take time to reflect the positive things that I did afterwards that I was not allowed to do when I was married. It is a raw and transparent account filled with teachable moments. [00:00:33] Hi everyone. Welcome back. I hope that you are surviving the holidays so far. I already got my Christmas present this year. Now I said all I want for Christmas is a job, a permanent job. So Friday I was given a job offer by my dream company. I'm [00:01:00] not gonna give you the name on the podcast. You certainly can message me or email me for that.
[00:01:05] But it is very difficult to get into this company. I have applied four times and I interviewed three times to get this position. and the company has great benefits and lots of opportunities, lots of places to transfer to, to learn new skills and
[00:01:28] further my career. So that is an answer to prayer. So I appreciate the prayers for my job situation. I will be doing healthcare administration, but I will be doing more patient facing roles.

Making the decision to leave

[00:00:30] Hi, everyone. Come on in. Get a holiday beverage of your choice and come and sit for a spell. Take a deep breath, unc unclench your jaw. Let's talk about the holidays, which we are in the midst of. I'm not doing a holiday episode this year. I have done one last year, [00:01:00] which you can go back and listen to. But what I will say about the holidays is to take care of yourself. Make sure that you are establishing boundaries, and forcing those boundaries, and you don't have to do everything that the holidays conjurs up.
[00:01:20] You don't have to fulfill all those expectations of what our society deems as Christmas. You can have a quiet celebration with just your family, with just yourself. You don't have to go into debt for Christmas. Your kids don't have to have the latest and greatest gadget or toy. The holidays are supposed to be about Jesus, and he kind of gets pushed out of the way. But about self.
[00:01:51] You don't have to go to those Christmas dinners if you're not feeling up to it or you don't want to interact with [00:02:00] people, your relatives, your friends, your church, whatever. You decide how you're going to celebrate and you stick to that. Make your own traditions. Don't follow everybody else's.

EP 111: My Story: Part 18: How to Sabotage and Kill Your Own Church

We're coming to the end of the tunnel, a very dark, long tunnel. This week on my story I relive more spiritual abuse related to the church plant that turned into the Twighlight Zone instead of a place of worship. Hear about the untrained pastor with the billboard on the back of his truck, who didn't believe in small talk, who preached the same message every Sunday, and systematically chased everyone away from his church, including us. At the end of the episode, I feature my new Christmas recording, Hallelujah, Light Has Come.

Transcript: How To Sabotage And Kill Your Own Church
[00:00:33] Welcome back. We've made it to part 18 of my story, almost to the end of this thing. And I've been hearing from you guys some feedback on my story, and I wanted to talk about that for a minute. One of the things that somebody had given on feedback on for the podcast is that [00:01:00] my intro is too long.
[00:01:01] I'm a podcaster because I like to talk, so maybe sometimes I talk too much. But I am working on that. And I am working on some technical components that you guys have told me about. I'm getting some help for that. So stay tuned for some improvements if you've noticed. Glitchy on the podcast.
[00:01:27] I am trying to provide the best podcast for you as possible. One other, a couple of the things that were mentioned were that I have a monotone voice sometimes.
[00:01:41] Yes, I do. I am trying to be transparent.
[00:01:46] I come to the podcast as I am, this is me. This is what you're gonna hear when you have a conversation with me. It's hard to talk to an empty room, talk to a camera. And people have pointed out, once the [00:02:00] guest comes on, then you're very excited and you're louder. That's because I feed off of the energy of the other person. I wanna make my guests feel welcome. And give them a good interview. And so I am working on that.

The saga continues this week on my story. See what happens when you start a church in a strip mall. We meet some of the church members who would join us. I continue recalling the abuse behind the scenes, including the speculations behind our non-existent love life. There are many examples of financial abuse, emotional abuse, spiritual abuse, isolation, and unhealthy patterns of married sex. I end the episode with a Christmas song I recorded, Candlelight Carol.
